Q Skatepark was packed with energy on Saturday, August 1, as young skateboarders from across the region gathered in Indianapolis for another exciting Q Skate League competition. The quarterly event featured boys ages 15 and under and girls 17 and under, giving skaters an opportunity to test their skills, gain contest experience, and compete in a positive and supportive environment.
Competitors were divided into three divisions: Boys 12 & Under, Boys 13–15, and Girls 17 & Under. Each skater completed two 45-second runs through Q's street course before taking three attempts at a best trick. Judges scored competitors on consistency, course use, difficulty, style, creativity, and overall execution.
The Boys 12 & Under division saw Jaxon Carr win his very first skateboard competition with two consistent runs and strong best trick attempts. Cruz Mikusky earned second after nearly landing a difficult 50-50 to 5-0 shove-it out on the ledge, while Bowie Carter claimed third by landing an impressive boardslide on the rail during Best Trick.
In the Girls 17 & Under division, veteran competitor Lillian Burgin took first place while landing her first-ever frontside boardslide to fakie on the bump-to-bar. First-time competitors Coraline Nelson and Ella Mould rounded out the podium with second- and third-place finishes, making an outstanding contest debut.
The Boys 13–15 division delivered some of the day's highest-level skating. Jaxson Renfro put together one of the best opening runs ever seen at Q Skate League to earn first place. Jaydehn Maldonado finished second with a variety of clean, consistent tricks throughout the course, while Lucas Farrell earned third in his first competition after moving up from the 12 & Under division.
Judge's Awards were presented to Dimitri Reel, who demonstrated tremendous improvement throughout the summer in his first contest, and Ethan Dugranrut of Lima, Ohio, whose aggressive approach and positive attitude stood out all day.
Beyond the competition, the event celebrated the growth of youth skateboarding. Parents, family members, and friends filled the viewing area, cheering for every competitor and creating an electric atmosphere from start to finish. Podium finishers received medals and Q Skate Shop store credit, rewarding their hard work and dedication.
Congratulations to every skater who competed! Your commitment, sportsmanship, and progression continue to make Q Skate League one of the premier youth skateboarding competitions in the Midwest.
Join us for the next Q Skate League on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Whether you're competing for the first time or returning to the podium, we can't wait to see you at Q Skatepark!
