Beautiful sunny weather and open garage doors set the scene for the final Q Skate League event of 2026 on Saturday, October 24, at Q Skatepark in Indianapolis. The Street Jam brought skaters, families, and spectators together for a high-energy day of competition, with the street course filled with action from start to finish.
Skaters competed in three divisions: 12 & Under, 13–15, and Girls 17 & Under. The Street Jam format gave competitors two separate two-minute runs, with two skaters skating at a time. From banks and ledges to quarterpipes, rails, and flatground tricks, skaters could use the entire street course to showcase their skills.
Judges scored competitors in four categories: skill, consistency, skating style, and use of the course. Each category was worth up to 10 points, for a maximum score of 40. Adding to the excitement, Q introduced new digital scoring technology developed by Chen Wang, allowing judges' scores to be tallied and displayed instantly.
Boys 12 & Under: Every Trick Counts
The 12 & Under division delivered one of the closest battles of the day. Cruz Mikusky took first place with 25.17 points, followed by Run Bryan in second with 22.33 and Bowie Carter in third with 21.83.
With scores so close, one landed trick here or there made all the difference. Kitt Carter (20.83) and Jaxon Carr (20.67) narrowly missed the podium, showing just how competitive the division was.
Results: 1st – Cruz Mikusky (25.17); 2nd – Run Bryan (22.33); 3rd – Bowie Carter (21.83).
Boys 13–15: New Faces and Familiar Podium Finishers
Jaydehn Maldonado claimed first place, continuing his recent run of strong podium performances. Jaydehn had also competed in the country's top amateur skateboarding tournament just weeks earlier, bringing valuable experience to the Street Jam.
Zach “The Menace” finished second in his first Skate League appearance, traveling from Dayton, Ohio, to compete. Clifton Harris, also making his Skate League debut, rounded out the podium in third place.
Results: 1st – Jaydehn Maldonado; 2nd – Zach “The Menace”; 3rd – Clifton Harris.
Girls 17 & Under: IMPAQ Takes the Top Spots
The Girls 17 & Under division featured two accomplished competitors from the IMPAQ skate team. Kee Cordes earned first place, with Lillian Burgin finishing second. Both skaters are familiar faces at competitions throughout the Midwest and brought their experience and talent to the Q Skate League finale.
Big Rewards and an Even Bigger Finish
The top three finishers in each division received medals and Q Skate Shop gift cards worth $75, $50, and $25, respectively. But the biggest hit of the day may have been the oversized chain necklaces awarded to the first-place finishers!
With spectators filling the street area and plenty of support for every competitor, the final Skate League event of 2026 was a fitting celebration of youth skateboarding.
The next Q Skate League is February 20, 2027, at Q Skatepark! Open to area and Midwest skaters ages 15 and under and girls ages 17 and under, Skate League welcomes first-timers and seasoned competitors alike. We'll see you at the next one!
